What's in a Name?
The mighty Northumberland Strait has long served as the gateway between Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. The Strait has transported families, welcomed travellers and supported coastal commerce. But these waters have always been more than a route from here to there. For many, the Strait symbolizes connection—carrying countless stories and bridging communities.
It’s this rich legacy that inspired the name MV Northumberland. Just as the Strait has helped shape the character of the Maritime provinces by bringing people and communities together, this vessel continues the tradition of service that has linked these shores for generations. Each voyage is a new story in this rich history, and as Partners in Your Journey, we’re proud to be part of yours. Together, let's chart a course for countless journeys and connections yet to come.
